The Legend of Princess Tatsuko

A golden statue of Princess Tatsuko now stands on the western shore, gazing out across the water. Sculpted by Yasutake Funakoshi in 1968, it is one of the most photographed spots in Akita, especially when the light reflects off the lake’s shimmering surface.
